“I have a passion for treating female urinary incontinence and urinary and pelvic floor issues that affect women. I believe that many women who struggle with conditions such as urinary incontinence,  prolapse, pelvic pain and recurrent urinary tract infections (UTI’s) are often reluctant to seek care,” said Takacs. “There tends to be a stigma towards these conditions and I am excited to be available to talk with women and treat these conditions that can affect their quality of life significantly.”

Dr. Takacs will also provide general urologic care including treatment of kidney stones, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), and men with urgency, frequency and urge incontinence. In addition, she can provide care to patients who have underlying neurologic conditions (i.e.: Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease) which may be impacting their urinary habits.

Dr. Takacs practiced urology for 17 years in Iowa City at the University of Iowa, and has returned to her hometown where she was born and raised, and graduated from Mason City High School in 1991. She is happy to be in a smaller community and closer to her seven siblings.

Dr. Takacs is married and has two sons. Outside of work Dr. Takacs enjoys watching her sons compete in sporting activities. She and her husband enjoy being active too.
