Mason City Clinic is an organization dedicated to providing high-quality specialty medical, surgical and ancillary care. We have over 50 physicians and ancillary healthcare professionals and over 206 staff members who are committed to meeting the needs of our patients.

As a leader in healthcare quality, Mason City Clinic is looking for exceptional individuals who will share in our mission of “Assuring the highest-quality healthcare through our role as patient and physician advocate.” We invite you to explore the various job opportunities at Mason City Clinic.

Kaylara Palmer, Certified Medical Assistant

My name is Kaylara Palmer, I am a certified medical assistant here at Mason City Clinic. I work in the urology department here at the clinic. And I assist with rooming patients. I assist with their intake. I assist in bladder scopes, prostate biopsies, vasectomies, basic patient care, bedside testing, bladder scans, those things that you don’t normally see or think about in the front of the office.

The thing that I enjoy the most is my patients. Every day is something new and every patient has a different story. You never know what kind of day your patient is having when they walk through that door. It could be the worst day of their life. They could be getting a new diagnosis. They could be just coming in for a recheck. So, you have to have that grace and that compassion, that empathy to care for that patient the way that they deserve.

So, what I like most about working at Mason City Clinic is the positive team environment. We are always held to a higher standard being in a specialty clinic, so our coworkers hold us to a higher standard. Our surgeons hold us to a higher standard. We know that we are at our best when we have others around us that want the best. So, when you are driven to take care of your patient and others around you are driven, it just makes a better experience for you as a coworker, as a staff member, and then for the patient at the end of the day. I do love my job here and I love my patients.

Savanah McClemons, Human Resources and Recruitment

I started with Mason City Clinic in 2014, and I started in an entry level position. I then moved to administration, and went back to school, where the clinic paid for a portion of my schooling. And then moved into a coordinator position, and now working as human resources and recruitment, and I hope to keep growing.

I think the most important part of my job at the clinic is helping our staff, making sure that they understand policies, making sure they understand their benefits, making sure they understand that they can utilize their PTO and the flexibility, and just to stay open with their managers and to communicate. But what I like the most is that I get to help staff. I like helping them and explaining that foreign language of benefits.

We have a great benefit package at Mason City Clinic. We have health, dental, vision, life insurance that the clinic pays for, long-term care, disability, long-term disability. One of my favorite benefits of the clinic was one that I was able to utilize, and that was the education reimbursement. I was able to go back to school and get my bachelor’s degree, and I’m also working towards a SHRM certification, and that’ll just help me keep growing within the company.

What I like the most about working at Mason City Clinic is the environment, is the culture, is walking into the office every day to smiling coworkers, to coworkers that have really become family. I feel a lot of pride, because we take care of a 14-county area. We have more than 250,000 patient population, and so there is a lot of pride that goes into that. And I’m happy to say that I work at the clinic and I do love my job.
